PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT - STRATA

Rapid growth of our Strata Division has created anopening for a dedicated and experienced property accountant in our well-established, Burnaby-based Property Management firm.

We need someone who has:

  • At least 2 years recent local experience in Strata Property Management Accounting
  • Good time-management and prioritizing skills
  • Focus and great attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and can meet deadlines
  • The desire to take ownership of their role
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Minimum of 3rd year CGA/CMA or equivalent
  • Budgeting experience
  • Familiarity with the Strata Act would be a definite asset.

Duties:
Overall responsibility for property accounting including:

  • Maintenance of the monthly charges/billings (rent roll)
  • Set up of all new owners, contact information etc.
  • Updating EFT information and posting of all receipts
  • Assist with set-up of new properties in Spectra
  • Processing of monthly journal entries
  • Monthly review of General Ledger for accuracy and correct as necessary
  • Maintenance of balance sheet schedules
  • Preparation the monthly financial package
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budget
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Reports to Controller and Strata Managers.
